Half an hour from the ski lifts and a world away from everything else. Pine View Alpine Lodge is a hand-built timber lodge that wraps around a two-storey stone fireplace, with twelve rooms that open onto snow-dusted decks. Summer means trailheads from the parking lot; winter means skis strapped to the rack and mugs of spiced cocoa by the hearth. Come for the stillness, stay for the legendary all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast served until noon.
